” SBI PO Prelims Preparation – Crack in 30 days ” is my strategy of attempting SBI PO Pre exam. I thought to write an article over what I did to prepare myself for SBI PO Pre exam. These are my independent thoughts and may vary from person to person. I have started a group for next IBPS PO exam in Favteacher. Interested people can register and join.

Understanding SBI PO Prelims Exam Pattern

Before jumping into the taking a book and start going into chapter by chapter, Let’s stop and define what we have to study first. As we have mainly three subjects Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English, We will have to give the same amount of effort in all these subjects. If you are just starting your preparation and you do not have any idea from where to start, just take a deep breadth and solve previous year questions. I think you should better understand what are most important topics which you should cover first. For example, You can directly jump into solving percentage and time and work problems but I think even if you are very good at arithmetic topic you can run into problems in real exam. I simply observed one thing in exam our mind looks for easier questions than tougher one. The reason is very simple you have a ticking clock in the corner of your computer. I started with simplification, quadratic equations, number series etc. I tried to make my calculation faster.

Practice is the only Key- No Alternative

Yes you are right. We should practice a lot but in smarter way. The best thing with all banking prelims exams is the exam pattern. It will be almost same with very few changes. Since, It is a test of speed and accuracy, you will have to very perfect in solving easy topics like Quadratic equation, number series, blood relation, syllogism etc. There are many more topics in which you should be master. Solve those problems till you do not get 100% accuracy. Believe me, it will surely help you. We should be very smart in picking the scoring topics rather than just breaking your head in some complex question.

Role of online test series

Have you ever thought of joining an online bank test series? If not, re-think over joining online test series. I could never crack it in first go if I would not have given prelims mock exam. I joined Testbook and bought a SBI PO mock test series and gave all most 30 mock tests in one and half months. Other than this I played bankers adda quizzes on daily basis. You would have heard about many good students getting nervous or trapped in some complex questions and could not make it.  The only reason is they are not prepared for the computer test. You should do many practice tests so that you could handle the pressure of real exam. There are many online tests out there, spend a few bucks and you will not regret.

English – The Game Changer

Many students focus more on quantitative aptitude and reasoning. It’s high time to consider English as well. If your English is average, you should be aware that even if you crack prelims, you will have a hard time in mains. Just take English into account and do whatever you can for increasing you reading comprehension capability. Read and write more and more. You have to increase the rate of reading and understanding English comprehension. If this part is good, you will really feel very comfortable in exam.

Practice till that extent when you achieve perfection in solving all easy questions.
